"9 lives" could of been my Grandpas motto! Who would of thought today would of been the day that my Grandpa Hendricks left this earth? Most would assume his life would end in a car accident (with the way he drove it was likely) I wouldn't of been surprised if he had died in a horse accident, but no, my Grandpa left this earth quietly in his sleep!
Today has been a day of mixed emotion, how can you not hold back your tears of sorrow and your sympathy for your family around you! Just last week my mom had told me "I will be devastated when my dad dies!" He truly has molded my mom into the strong person she is today! Sometimes I feel like she tries to be too strong, and I want so much for her to just let it go!
For my sweet sweet Grandma, pure sadness when you lose a spouse! My heart goes out to her! I loved watching how she would respond to my Grandpa!
My little brother Jeff, I cry every time I think of him, my Grandpa meant the world to him! I pray every night pleading to my Heavenly father to just give my little brother a "break."
But behind all these tears there is also laughter. Those who know my Grandpa know what I mean! I love sitting and talking to my family about the funny things my Grandpa would do! He was always putting us on these wild horses, I truly believe hoping one day we would take after him! He down right scared us all, none of use wanted a thing to do with the horses! We named a mountain after Grandpa...It was a huge rocky mountain in West Yellowstone that had maybe 5 trees on top representing the 5 hairs he had on his head! I believe at one time a few of my cousins rubbed icy hot on top of his bald head {I am so glad I was not present at that time!}
I am so grateful to come from such an amazing family! Because of my Grandpa all 7 of his children are Strong, hardworking but yet the most compassionate people! I AM SO PROUD! My heart if full tonight with sorrow, love but most of all Gratitude.
Grandpa you will be missed! We'll miss hearing about you jumping out of an airplane with your brothers, we'll miss the sarcasm that made you, you! We'll miss hearing all your cowboy stories! We love you!
